Boom Toasted.

My thoughts are scrambled like eggs and compartmentalized like waffles and irrelevant like breakfast itself.

I’m not wearing legitimate clothes right now and by legitimate clothes I mean pants. I am cold.

I feel bad for adverbs. So much hate. In jr. high when we learn about them, no one tells us that they’re part of Satan’s speech. Maybe I’ll adopt one. Love it like my own. Shelter it from all the anti-adverbism in the world.

I feel like I’m waiting for something.

Cody, you act like my list of accomplishments connects to form the double helix that creates this irrational, overrated ginger. My high school self is a different person from a different world with different DNA. Don’t try to figure her out. I never did.

I am disconnected.

I want to be obscene and use all the words that would shock you. But what would mother say?

If I have to read another page about Female Genital Mutilation, I’m going to drop out of school. Mark my words.

I can say I love you 33 different languages.

Today is awesome because

Molly is here!
I’m wearing flannel!
We got to be thrifty!
Kew Kow is bringing snacks!

I am laughing!

I ate pancakes!
I got to see Tyler, Cody, AND Travis yesterday!

I’m in love with my life!

And the people in it!
Because of the fortification they provide, the pending storm won't be so destructive.
I hope.

Letters.

Dear Mom,
Hi.

Dear Taylor Swift,
I feel imprisoned when your songs come on and I’ve just gotten in the shower.

Dear Babies,
You make me uncomfortable.

Dear Pregnant Women,
You make me uncomfortable also.

Dear Mr. Cassity,
I still understand the difference between molar mass and atomic mass. I can calculate the distance my car needs to come to a complete stop using its inertia and I’m a Bunsen Burner enthusiast. Let’s get coffee?

Dear Girl I know,
That headache was fake; I just didn’t want to have a conversation with you because I knew what you wanted to bring up.

Dear Facebook,
We’re finished.

Dear Coat and Boots and Hat and Gloves.
You guys make a great team. Thanks for all the warmth.

Dear New Semester,
So far you’re very neat.

Love,
Jordan

Today feels good.

Life fits just right, like good shoes.

I’m learning to take care of myself.

I’m not sure it’s worth every sad face I’ve created this week.

Where is the balance? Can I manipulate the equation so disappointing others and going crazy cancel each other out?

If you’re reading this, I love you.

Thanks Oprah, I needed to know that.

It’s elementary, my dear Watson.

Break is long gone.
Days of sleeping in and having time to exhale are lighyears behind me now.
My room seems bigger.
If anyone is brushing their teeth when I’m brushing mine, I keep brushing until after they’ve finished, even if I started first.
I don’t know what this says about me. That I’m passive aggressive and competitive perhaps?
I love flossing.
Today I like this font.
We never use serif fonts in newspapers.
Good thing this isn't a newspaper.
Speaking of good things, I work with good people.
I’m determined to be a better RA/student/person/friend this semester.
I made a new semester resolution (not to be confused with a new year’s resolution). I’m not going to tell you what it is because I assume that it’s lies within the realm of Birthday wishes, 11:11 pleas, and shooting stars, meaning that if you tell anyone it won’t happen. But it involves Sudoku.
Fishstick front doors swaying in the shallow sea on nothing but a slippery current and two-cent peppermint sticks, illuminated by the envious glow of a solitary nocturnal piranha who just wants his wife back.
Bring on your overwhelming stress.
Bring on your all-nighters.
Bring on your unaccomplishable to-do lists.
Happy Cody?

I’m almost sad to say goodbye to such an eventful year. It will certainly be remembered, even if only as the one where I kissed way too many boys, picked out the names of my future children, and learned to love myself.
